This Spring 20 3rd - 5th graders joined Mr. Soles for our Green Team after school enrichment program. During Green Team the students participated in environmental science themed lessons such as studying soil samples, mapping water flow through our schoolyard habitat, and observing our native food webs. Additionally, the students helped to maintain our beautiful gardens by weeding, pruning, and spreading mulch. They even helped to stain-finish our new dry erase message center! This message center was paid for through our MSAP project, and created with the help of FASTSIGNS Ventura and Mr. Manninen and the Buena High School Wood Shop. This new message center will be installed over the summer and will serve as a place to write about the current happenings in the habitat, what to look for, and what can be maintained. We look forward to many more sunny days in the habitat, both during the school day and during after school Green Team!
