Student Parking Lot Changes

Students who do not secure a parking spot in the lower lot will be re-directed to the upper lot. We ask that students prepare for this potential re-route by allowing themselves enough time to arrive to school before 8:30 a.m. A walking path from the upper lot to lower lot will be accessible. VHS will continue to contact and mark students tardy despite this temporary change.

Effective tomorrow, November 13th through November 22nd, there will be no driving access from the lower student parking lot (by baseball field below the stadium) to the upper lot (El Jardin-main stadium entrance lot), therefore Students/staff/parents will need to access the upper lot through El Jardin Avenue off of Catalina Street. Poli is closed from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. therfore requiring re-routing vehicles from Seaward Ave. to Main Street to Catalina St. then proceeding onto the El Jardin Ave. entrance.

Parcel Tax Extension
In November 2020, voters extended a $59 annual parcel tax, originally approved in 2012, to support educational programs. This tax is set to expire soon. The Ventura Unified School District has placed a renewal for Measure H on the November 2024 ballot starting July 1, 2025.

Funds will help:

  • Maintain school mental health services
  • Support arts, music, and electives to prepare students for college and careers
  • Attract and retain qualified teachers and staff
  • Provide stability against potential state budget cuts
