There are numerous opportunities for parents, staff, and community members to support Poinsettia programs through individual events and ongoing programs. From one-time events to monthly activities, from on-campus sales to online purchasing, there are a range of choices allowing every family to support Poinsettia at the level at which they feel most comfortable. Please look below to learn more about each program.

Jog-a-Thon: Cancelled for 2020-2021
Benefits: PTO General Fund

An annual event combining fun and fitness with fundraising! Students learn about working as a community toward a common goal as they ask for sponsor pledges and work to reach individual, class and school goals. On the day of the BIG event, everyone participates and has a good time.

Barrels for Bytes:  date TBD
Benefits: Poinsettia Technology, Library and Student Body

An annual evening event with tapas, drinks, raffles, live deejay and silent auction benefiting Poinsettia Elementary School technology resources, the school library, and all Poinsettia students. This is an adults-only event, 21 and older.


Book Fair: date TBD
Benefits: PTO General Fund in support of Poinsettia programs

The proceeds from the book fair go to the PTO to help keep programs in the school. The teachers and librarian will have wish lists by the registers, ready for those community members who would like to donate directly to the school library or to a specific classroom. This is also a great opportunity for parents to get books at a reasonable price for spring break or summer vacation.


BoxTops  

Scan your store receipt using the Box Tops mobile app and instantly add cash to Poinsettia’s earnings online which will benefit a variety of Poinsettia programs. Visit the Box Tops for Education website for more information.


Carnival: date TBD

This is one of the highlights of the school year with all sorts of carnival style games, food, big inflatables, and when it comes right down to it, simply a great time with family and friends.

Benefits: Outdoor Ed Program

Join other Poinsettia families in supporting our school via the monthly Dining with Lions events! Dine in or take out from a variety of local restaurants, a different venue each month! A percentage of all sales from Poinsettia supporters will be donated to the Outdoor Education program. Don’t forget to bring the flyers with you - look for the one your student will be bringing home each month and on ParentSquare.


Outdoor Ed: 2020-2021 date TBD

Benefits: 5th Grade Class 

The Outdoor Education committee sponsors a number of fundraising opportunities throughout the school year to raise funds for the 5th grade to visit Camp Whittier. From weekly on-campus sales to recurring monthly activities to special annual events, you can support Outdoor Ed in many ways.

The Outdoor Ed program at Poinsettia offers beautiful, locally grown poinsettias from Freyr Farms for sale in mid-November! Pick up your poinsettia orders at Foothill Tech HS, 100 Day Road - Look for Conni Carr in the cafeteria (dragon on building)
