Welcome to the Cabrillo Health Office! It is our goal to promote wellness and regular attendance. This is best accomplished through disease prevention and control; emergency care of illness and injury; implementation of health screenings; management of health conditions; and access to health care and resources.
Please help support our efforts in the Health Office by:
Ensuring your child eats a healthy breakfast each morning, makes healthy food choices, gets plenty of rest, and exercises regularly.
- Keeping your child home from school if they are showing signs of illness, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, persistent sore throat/earache. Students MUST be fever, vomit, diarrhea free for 24 hours without the use of medications before returning to school.
- Consulting with your physician when needed and calling the school Attendance Office to report any absences and providing the school with a note from the doctor.
MEDICATIONS AT SCHOOL:
- Students are NOT allowed to carry prescription or over-the-counter medication with them under any circumstances.
- In order for any type of medication to be administered at school, whether prescription or over-the-counter, the proper "AUTHORIZATION FOR ANY MEDICATION TAKEN DURING SCHOOL HOURS" form must be completed and signed by the physician. All medication must be in a properly labeled pharmacy container.
REMEMBER:
- Always keep the school office up to date with current emergency contact phone numbers. In the event your child becomes ill or injured during school hours, we need to be able to reach you.
Together, we can make Cabrillo a healthy and safe place to learn for all students.
