A native Californian, Sabrena was raised in Madera, California. She is the proud product of a public school education kindergarten through graduate school. She and her husband, Dr. Andrei Bobrow, moved to Ventura in 2004. They are parents of two daughters, Bella and Lola, both current VUSD students.
Sabrena is serving her first term as a Trustee. She brings to this position a long history of volunteering on behalf of our community’s children, both at site and districtwide levels. Through her volunteer work, Sabrena has helped to establish a school garden education program, supported early childhood literacy, promoted arts and music education and fostered relationships with local businesses. She has served as the president of the Ventura Education Partnership, the foundation that supports all VUSD schools, since 2015.
Sabrena holds a Master’s degree in Conservation Biology. Prior to returning to California, she worked for the Rainforest Alliance, an international nonprofit working to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods around the world. She has lived and worked in Central and South America, Europe and southern Africa.
