Lemon Grove School will be officially opening its doors in the Fall 2021 semester. This new TK-8 school in the heart of Ventura, was formerly the site of Blanche Reynolds Elementary. Responding to the need of parents for a school in the mid-town area that serves a TK-8 population, VUSD quickly determined that this site, nestled in a quiet neighborhood adjacent to a local park, would be the perfect location.
Lemon Grove’s staff is excited at the new possibilities bringing a 6-8 middle school program onto their campus will bring. New construction will be underway soon to house middle school academic programing, providing the best learning environment for its learners. New facilities will include a brand new innovation lab, classroom renovations, outdoor collaborative and gathering areas, and a new playground. The TK-5 classrooms will not be left out being provided with a new playground and updates and upgrades where needed.

Lemon Grove School- Middle School Option
Middle school students will benefit from a smaller school setting with rigourous academic expectations and an engaging learning community. The core team of middle school teachers ensures each student and their needs will be individually known. An honors math option will be available to the middle school students and students will have opportunities to serve in leadership roles on campus.

Playground Rebuild
The playground at Lemon Grove will be brand new when students arrive in the Fall! Our beloved Rainbow Bridge wood structure that was lovingly built by many in our community has been used to its fullest (25 years worth). While we are sad to see this beloved structure go we are thrilled at the new accessible playground our students will have to play on for the next 25 years! Here are some draft renderings of what is being considered for the school. It will be open when students arrive on campus in August!
Community Help Needed!
We are building our 6-8 grade library as this will be the first time we have middle school students on our campus! We are asking for the community's help in donating books to our library. We welcome any gently used or new books! If you would like to donate, please bring them to 450 Valmore Ave., Monday - Friday from 8 am- 4 pm beginning April 12. Our staff will put a bookplate into each book donated to ensure our students know of your generous donation for years to come!
